Sweets May Cause Teeth Cavity In Your Mouth

Everything that is sweet is delicious and tempting. However, did you know that sweet foods and drinks are the cause of cavities? Yes, this is because sweet foods and drinks are a delicious meal for bacteria in the mouth. These bacteria will eat away the remnants of sugar that sticks to the surface of the teeth and produce acid. This acid will mix with saliva which then forms plaque on the surface of the teeth. Plaque that is left piling up will erode the tooth enamel layer so that it will eventually cause holes. Meanwhile, if you suffer from severe teeth cavities, we recommend you to visit Dr Sherry Powell if you need a highly skilled dentist to treat you as soon as possible.

The hole that was originally small can widen to the inner layer of the tooth (dentin) and even to the pulp. The pulp is the deepest part of a tooth that is filled with nerves and blood vessels. When the hole has reached this part, then you will feel a sensation of extreme pain. In fact, even teeth will hurt when used to chew food.

You do not need to stop sweet foods and drinks at all because the body still needs sugar as energy. You only need to limit the portion and frequency of sweet food intake every day.

Make sure you also diligently clean your teeth and mouth well after eating sweet things. That way, you will avoid the buildup of plaque that causes cavities.
